When you join Herbalife as a distributor there is always somebody that is prepared to help you and to guide you as you learn the skills that you will need to succeed. Last night we went to a training session with members of our up line. The topic for the evening was the importance of getting a good retail base to your business. Remember in a previous post I spoke about having a product to sell? Well it seems that even I had to be taught the finer details of that concept.
The importance of a good retail base to your business is this. Your business needs money to grow. It does not help if you sign up thousands of people into your network only to find that they do exactly as you do and also sign up people but nobody is buying or selling any stock. Signing up people into your network is important BUT they need to see that you are retailing the product. They will then do the same. Remember “monkey see, monkey do” not that I’m calling anybody a monkey. But the principle holds true. You need to remember that money is the life blood of your business and you need to teach that to your down line.
Ok, so let’s talk retail. As I mentioned I needed to learn this lesson as well. I’m very good at selling the business concept but I suppose that I was shying away from retailing the product because of some fears that I have. But as they spoke my eyes were opened to the fact that if these people could sell so much then surely so could I.
This morning I came to work with a determination to sell. Can you believe that I got orders of R1600 this morning? 2 hours work. I spoke to a lady this morning about the products; she got so excited that she called her friend in Johannesburg. The friend was sleeping because she works night shift, but the friend was also so excited that she also placed an order and didn’t complain about been woken up.
How has this happened? Here is the BIG secret. I showed an interest in the well being of my prospective client then they asked about how I could help them. Wow, I was amazed. I didn’t have to be pushy or forceful. THEY ASKED ME! I’m also amazed at how much fun this is. I can have a friendly chat and make money.
